How we verify these torque specifications

This site publishes wheel fastener torque for 667 models across 29 makes. Values were cross-checked against other public sources while the data was being collected; our database keeps one primary source reference per entry.
Where the figures come from
Values are compiled from technical information published openly on the internet, including owner's manuals, factory service documentation and wheel service references. They are facts about vehicles, not opinions. During collection each value was compared against other public references before being accepted; what the database stores afterwards is the primary source URL for the entry, not the full list of documents consulted.
What we publish and what we hold back
Our full database is larger than what appears on this site. A second, less verified block of data — makes and models grafted in from an older version of the app — is deliberately kept off these pages; it remains in the Android app, clearly flagged there as less verified. Everything published here comes from the corroborated set.
Where our figures disagree with each other
A few models carry two different figures for the same year, because the underlying references disagree. We do not silently pick a winner: the page says so in plain language and lists both values, so you know to settle it against your own manual.
What we deliberately do not guess
Where we do not hold a value — socket size, thread pitch or the number of fasteners for a given model — we leave it out rather than estimate it. On a safety topic an invented number is worse than a missing one.
Units
Figures are given in lbf·ft, N·m and kgf·m. Conversions use 1 lbf·ft = 1.35582 N·m and 1 kgf·m = 9.80665 N·m.
